The men's long jump at the 1999 World Athletics Championships was held on August 26th and 28th, 1999 in the Olympic Stadium in the Spanish city ​​of Seville .

His third World Cup title in a row was won by Cuban Iván Pedroso , who had also won the long jump competition at the Pan American Games in 1995 and 1999 . The Spaniard Yago Lamela came in second. Bronze went to the Slovenian Gregor Cankar .

42 participants competed in two groups for the qualifying round. The qualification distance for direct entry into the final was 8.15 m. Three athletes exceeded this mark (highlighted in light blue). The final field was filled with the nine next-placed athletes to twelve jumpers (highlighted in light green). In the end, 7.90 m was enough for participation in the finals.
