Mattias Sunneborn

Mattias Sunneborn ( Gunnar Mattias Sunneborn ; born September 27, 1970 in Fårösund ) is a former Swedish long jumper .

At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in 1991 and in Stuttgart in 1993 , he was eliminated in qualification. In Stuttgart he was also part of the Swedish relay, which came eighth in the 4 x 100 meter relay .

In 1994 he was seventh at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris and ninth at the European Athletics Championships in Helsinki . The following year he won silver at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Barcelona , but did not get past the preliminary round at the World Championships in Gothenburg . In 1996 he won gold at the European Indoor Championships in Stockholm and finished eighth at the Olympic Games in Atlanta .

At the 1997 World Championships in Athens, the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and the 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, he was eliminated from the qualification.

Nine times he was Swedish outdoor champion (1991-1997, 2001, 2002) and seven times indoor (1991-1995, 1998, 2002). He was also three times national indoor champion over 200 m (1995, 1999, 2000).

On June 15, 2011 he set the world record in the international pentathlon in the M40 age group, which is still valid today (August 1, 2019), with 3937 points and outstanding results in the long jump (7.14 m) and over the 200 m (22.06 s).
