Emiel Mellaard

Emiel Mellaard ( Emiel Remco Mellaard ; born March 21, 1966 in Spijkenisse ) is a former Dutch long jumper .

At the World Indoor Athletics Games in 1985 in Paris, he was fifth and at the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart. In 1987 he retired from qualifying at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .

In 1988 he was fourth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Budapest and eleventh at the Olympic Games in Seoul . In three other European Indoor Championships he won gold in The Hague in 1989 , silver in Glasgow in 1990 and sixth in Genoa in 1992 .

He was national outdoor champion six times (1984–1988, 1991) and twice indoors (1989, 1990). He won other national titles in 1989 in the 100-meter run and in the hall in 1987 and 1990 in the 60-meter run and in 1985 and 1987 in the 60-meter hurdles .
