Frans Maas
Frans Maas (born July 13, 1964 in Bergen op Zoom ) is a former Dutch long jumper .
In 1987 he was eighth at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Indianapolis and was eliminated from the qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Rome .
In 1988 he won gold at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Budapest . The following year he won bronze at the European Indoor Championships in The Hague and was again eighth at the World Indoor Championships in Budapest .
At the European Athletics Championships in 1990 in Split, he finished fourth.
In 1991 he did not get beyond the preliminary round at the World Cup in Tokyo . In 1993 a fourth place followed at the World Indoor Championships in Toronto and another out of qualification at the World Championships in Stuttgart .
He was five times Dutch champion outdoors (1983, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1994) and indoors (1984, 1991-1994). In 1987 he won the national triple jump title .
