Scott Moncrieff Prize

The Scott Moncrieff Prize is an English literary prize that was established in 1965 by the Translators Association (TA). This prize is awarded annually by a jury that recognizes a translation from French. The condition is that the work has been translated into English for the first time.

With the Scott Moncrieff Prize , TA honors the Scottish translator Charles Kenneth Scott Moncrieff , who first translated Proust's In Search of Lost Time into English from 1922 .

Currently this literature prize is u. a. sponsored by the French Ministry of Education , the French Embassy in London and the Arts Council England .
