Vala Flosadóttir
Vala Flosadóttir (born February 16, 1978 in Reykjavík ) is a former Icelandic pole vaulter .
Vala Flosadóttir lived in Reykjavík until she was nine years old. Then she moved with her family to Bíldudalur in the West Fjords . She was European champion in the pole vault in 1996, third in the European Indoor Championships in 1998 and second in the World Indoor Championships in 1999 .
At the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney she won the bronze medal in the pole vault behind Stacy Dragila (USA) and Tatiana Grigorieva (AUS).
