Mathew Quinn (born April 17, 1976 in Harare ) is a South African athlete whose specialty is the sprint .
Sporting successes
Quinn participated in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney.
Together with Morne Nagel , Corné du Plessis and Lee-Roy Newton , he finished second behind the US quartet in the 4 x 100 meter relay in the finals at the 2001 World Athletics Championships in Edmonton . The South Africans improved the national record to 38.47 s.
Due to the subsequent disqualification of the American Tim Montgomery for a doping offense , the South African relay was awarded the gold medal in 2005.
At the 1999 Summer Universiade , Quinn won the bronze medal in the 100-meter run .
