career

The native Regiomontano spent his first professional years at his "hometown club" CF Monterrey , where he had been under contract since 2007 and in the early days he was often used in their lower-class reserve teams. On July 24, 2010 he made his debut for the first team of the Rayados in the top Mexican division in the away game against San Luis FC , which was also his second stop in 2012 and 2013. After this club collapsed at the end of the 2012/13 season , Rodríguez moved to Chiapas FC , where he developed into a regular player over the next few years.

He returned to his hometown for the 2016/17 season , where he has been under contract with the UANL Tigres ever since , with whom he has already won the Mexican football championship twice.

On April 15, 2015, he made his debut in the dress of the Mexican national football team in a test match against neighboring USA .
