Luis María Santiago Eduardo Solari de la Fuente (born January 28, 1948 in Lima ) is a Peruvian politician who was Prime Minister of Peru between 2002 and 2003 .

Life

Solari de la Fuente graduated after attending the Colegio de la Inmaculada a study of medicine at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (UNMSM) and was then as a doctor operates. In 1994 Alejandro Toledo was one of the founders of the Perú Posible party , of which he was general secretary in 1995 and from September 1999 to April 2002. In the elections to the Congress of the Republic of Peru on April 9, 2000, he was elected MP for Perú Posible. In the government of Prime Minister Roberto Dañino Zapata , he took over the post of Minister of Health (Ministro de Salud) on July 28, 2001 and held this position until he was replaced by Fernando Carbone Campoverde on January 18, 2002.

On July 12, 2002 Solari de la Fuente was appointed by the current President Alejandro Toledo to succeed Dañino Zapata as Prime Minister. In his government, Allan Wagner Tizón took over the post of Foreign Minister, while Javier Silva Ruete became Minister of Economy and Finance. He held the office of Prime Minister until June 23, 2003, when he was replaced by Beatriz Merino .
