Luis Torrecilla , full name Luis Alberto Torrecilla Michelle , (born March 18, 1989 in Paysandú ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

The 1.73-meter-tall defensive player Torrecilla has been in the first division squad of the Montevideo-based Uruguayan club River Plate Montevideo since at least the 2008 Apertura . In the seasons 2009/10, 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 he completed 2 (no goal), 8 (2 goals), 18 (1 goal) and 20 (no goal) games in the Primera División . No data are available for the 2010/11 season. He also ran in four matches in the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . He didn't score a goal. In the 2014/15 season, he was used in twelve first division games (one goal) and two matches (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2014 . During Apertura 2015, he made three first division appearances (one goal). In January 2016, he moved to Liverpool Montevideo within the league . By the end of the season, he ran in four first division games (no goal) with the Montevideans. In March 2017, the second division Canadian Soccer Club signed him . So far (as of July 26, 2017) he has played eight second division games there (no goal).

National team

Torrecilla was also part of Uruguay's U-20 squad . Coach Diego Aguirre nominated him in August 2008 for the line-up that would play a number of friendly matches in Europe and the Torneo de L'Alcudia in Spain.
