Luise Mirsch

Luise Mirsch (born February 3, 1939 in Hohenelbe , Riesengebirge ) worked as a music producer , music editor and presenter for radio in the GDR . From the 1960s she was responsible for the music recordings of many well-known GDR rock musicians .

Life

Luise Mirsch studied musicology at the Humboldt University in East Berlin from 1958 to 1963 . She completed her studies with a diploma. She then worked as an editor for dance music for the GDR radio and from 1968 as the first music producer for the GDR radio. She had her first successes as a producer with the Manfred Ludwig Sextet and the Horst Krüger Sextet . In 1969 she initiated the “Open House”, where talented bands were invited to auditions and numerous radio productions were made. Luise Mirsch worked with almost all GDR rock bands, as only a few bands like the Puhdys and City were allowed to have their pieces exclusively produced by the GDR record label Amiga . Many of the pieces she produced later appeared on long-playing records. In addition, in the 1970s she conducted numerous interviews with musicians from the GDR in the radio series Musikanten Asked .

From 1986 Mirsch was production manager in the “youth music” department at radio. Her last productions in the radio studio were two recordings with Engerling . From 1990 to 1991 she was the "chief producer of dance music" for the big band and the radio dance string orchestra, then as chief dramaturge for the Radio Berlin dance orchestra , which in 1993 became the Babelsberg film orchestra . In the 1990s, Luise Mirsch worked for various broadcasters as a freelance writer and music editor.

Luise Mirsch lives today as a pensioner near Berlin.
