Luiz Felipe de Alencastro
Luiz Felipe de Alencastro (* 1946 in Itajaí ) is a Brazilian historian and political scientist .
Life
Alencastro has been Director of the Center d'Etudes du Brésil et de l'Atlantique Sud at the Sorbonne University in Paris since 2001 . Since 2011 he has been a member of the History and Archeology Section of the Academia Europaea . In 2012 he was visiting professor at the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth .
Together with Thomas Skidmore , he is considered one of the most important researchers of Afro-Brazilian history.
