Lukáš Mareček [ ˈlʊkaːʃ ˈmarɛtʃɛk ] (born April 17, 1990 in Ivančice ) is a Czech football player .

Club career

Mareček began playing football with Sokol Domašov-Říčky. In 1999 he moved to FC Zbrojovka Brno . In early 2008, the midfielder made the leap into the professional squad. Mareček made his debut on February 17, 2008 in the game against Viktoria Pilsen in the Gambrinus League . After 50 first division games for FC Zbrojovka Brno, Mareček moved to the top Belgian club RSC Anderlecht at the end of January 2010 . The Czech signed a four and a half year contract in Brussels. After three seasons he was awarded to SC Heerenveen .

After this loan expired, he moved back to Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic for the 2013/14 season . For the change, RSC Anderlecht received the highest transfer fee of 5 million euros for the club. Mareček signed a five-year contract with Prague.

In the winter transfer window of the 2017/18 season, Mareček moved back to Belgium to SC Lokeren in the Belgian Division 1A . Even when the club was relegated to Division 1B for the 2019/20 season, he remained loyal to Lokeren.

National team

Mareček has played for the Czech junior teams U-16, U-17 , U-18, U-19 and U-21 . On March 24, 2016, he was substituted on in the 78th minute of the game against Scotland for his first international match. His last appearance for the national team was on May 27, 2016 in a friendly against Malta.
