Luka Maisuradze

Luka Maisuradze (born January 30, 1998 ) is a Georgian judoka . In 2019 he was third at the European and World Championships.

Athletic career

Luka Maisuradse fights in the light middleweight division, the weight class up to 81 kilograms. In 2017 he was second in the Junior European Championships behind the German Tim Gramkow . In 2018 he won the title and won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championships. At the end of 2018 he won the Georgian national championships.

In 2019 the European Championships took place as part of the European Games 2019 in Minsk. In the quarterfinals he defeated the Briton Stuart McWatt , in the semifinals he was defeated by the Belgian Matthias Casse . By defeating the Italian Antonio Esposito , he won a bronze medal. Two months later at the World Championships in Tokyo he was defeated in the quarter-finals to the Egyptian Mohamed Abdelaal . With victories over the Uzbek Sharofiddin Boltaboev and the Iranian Saeid Mollaei, Maisuradze also won a bronze medal at the world championships.
