Lungnyi ( Dzongkha : ལུང་ གཉིས་ ) is one of ten Gewogs (blocks) of the Paro district in western Bhutan . Lungnyi Gewog is in turn divided into five Chiwogs (constituencies). According to the census of 2005, 2543 people live in this weight on an area of 59.7 km² in more than 600 households. The Dzongkhag administration of Paro states a number of eight villages on its website, while the election commission lists 112 named settlements, including all the smallest settlements.
The Gewog is centrally located in the district of Paro and extends over altitudes between 2200 and 3400 m , about 6% of the area of the Gewog is covered by forest. When it comes to the agricultural use of arable land, dry and wet farming are of roughly equal importance. Rice and wheat are the most important types of grain, while apples and potatoes are grown as the most important cash crops .
In addition to the Gewog administration, state institutions also have an office for the development of renewable natural resources ( RNR, Renewable Natural Resource center ) and a secondary school, the Lower Secondary School.
There are a total of twelve Buddhist temples ( Lhakhangs ) in this Gewog , which are state, community or private property.
