action

In the small town of Raral in the US state of Illinois in 1938 there was a fair which , in addition to all sorts of curiosities, also featured a strange freak named The Geek . The seedy drinker is the troop's bloody attraction. He bites the head off a live chicken in front of a stunned and howling audience. The little Luther Watts eyewitness is completely fascinated by the act in which he loses his front teeth due to the carelessness of enthusiastic spectators. He feels a strange connection with the unfortunate freak, shows neither fear nor disgust and even tastes the blood of the sacrificed animal when a corpulent woman, under threat of blows, pulls him away from the scene.

Years later, Luther, now listed as prisoner no. 879632, was released on parole as a so-called model prisoner after serving a 20-year prison sentence for three murders committed . Despite disagreements about his potential for danger, Luther alias The Geek , notorious among the guards - the name derives from his preference to bite the victims' necks - is released. Shortly after his release, the taciturn man who cackles like a chicken with his razor-sharp steel teeth begins to bite his way through life; he relapses. He ambushes his first victim at a bus stop, then escapes from the police in the back seat of a car, the owner of which, completely unsuspecting, takes him from the crime scene to her remote house. There he soon overpowers the widowed Hilary and ties her to her bed when her daughter Beth suddenly shows up with her boyfriend Rob.

After the arrival of the young people, Luther escapes from the property on Rob's motorcycle, but is followed by Rob, who does not succeed in catching Luther - he himself becomes his hostage. The eccentric transports Rob back to the remote ranch, where he is received by the weeping Beth. The traumatized Beth tried unsuccessfully to free her captured and gagged mother. The trio is terrorized by cackling Luther, who subsequently fatally injures Rob and Beth, as well as a police officer who rushes to help.

The next morning Luther tries to stock up on provisions, at the end of the film he catches some chickens when he is discovered by the waiting Hilary in the chicken coop and, to his amazement, greeted with chicken sounds. Visibly moved and touched with happiness, he performs a kind of chicken dance, during which he is shot by Hilary.

Reviews

"Certainly the film was produced quite cheaply, but it also offers some splatter effects and is by and large fun ..."

- Haiko herds : Haiko's film dictionary

“All in all, 'Luther the Geek' is a film that you can do without, because it doesn't actually have anything that makes a good film. You will even look for tension in vain here, even though the story gives reason enough to build in tension… So there is really nothing intoxicating and with a few bloody scenes you cannot save such a film anymore! "
