Lutz Altschul

Lutz Altschul , also known as Louis V. Arco (born July 24, 1899 in Baden near Vienna , † April 3, 1975 in Zurich ) was an Austrian actor .

Life

Altschul attended a cadet school during the First World War . After the end of the war, he began his acting career in 1919. He came to Leipzig in 1922 , where he first stepped in front of the film camera.

Since 1923 he played on Berlin theaters and also appeared in several silent films. After the seizure of power by the Nazis in 1933, he emigrated to Moravian Ostrava , then to Switzerland and the USA in 1939. Under the name Louis V. Arco , he took on numerous small roles in Warner Bros. productions , often as a foreigner or Wehrmacht soldier in anti-Nazi films.

In 1946 Altschul returned to Europe and lived in Switzerland and Austria. He also appeared in a few films and series and played theaters in Salzburg and Gelsenkirchen , among others .
