Lutz Künzel (born November 6, 1951 ) is a German musician, composer, lyricist and arranger.

Career

Künzel studied at the Karl-Marx-Universität Leipzig with a degree as a qualified teacher for music education / German and at the Music Academy Leipzig guitar and arrangement.

After various bands - u. a. Computer 69 (first TV appearance in 1969 in the first youth program of GDR television "Be there" with the speakers Wolfgang Pampel , Astrid Bless and Dieter Bellmann ) and founding of the group Soft in 1972 - Künzel was from 1981 to 1992 as a guitarist, keyboardist, singer, Composer and arranger for the SET group. Numerous compositions for SET, TV films and advertising films, record productions and orchestras were created in the associated SET studio in Leipzig. As a guitarist Künzel worked in numerous record productions for Amiga and after 1990 for other CD productions: u. a. Monika Häuschen, In all friendship , Katrin Weber .

From 1982 the collaboration with the cabaret artist Jürgen Hart began , which was initially limited to radio and record productions, but which was also expanded from 1990 to 2002 in music for cabaret programs and the participation as a rock guitarist.

In 1994 Künzel founded with Dirk Posner (ex Amor & die Kids ) and Uwe Plociennik (ex Tantrum) "ÄTäNNSCHEN" - the first band in the world in Saxon. Since then, Künzel has also performed as a soloist with cabaret songs as “Herr Künzel - the Singing Saxon”.

With his daughter Laura Künzel and the drummer Bruno Rockstroh as well as the bassist Sebastian Röhniß, Künzel played in the band The Flaming Rocks from its founding in 2003 until its dissolution in 2014.

In 1996 Künzel founded the music publisher edition PATAM and in 2007 the record label PATAM records.

In addition, Künzel has been teaching guitar at various music schools since 2002.

After an earlier collaboration in the 1980s with his brother Tobias Künzel ( Die Prinzen ) under the name "Künzel / Künzel", during which several radio and record productions were made, Künzel has been playing with Tobias Künzel in the British-German band Ruff since 2014 as Stone.
