Lutz Unger
Lutz Unger (born June 19, 1951 in Wernigerode ) is a former German swimmer. He started for SC Dynamo Berlin .
In 1970 he became European champion over 4 × 100 m layers together with Roland Matthes , Klaus Katzur and Udo Poser . At the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, he won the silver medal in the 4 × 100 m medley together with Roland Matthes, Klaus Katzur and Hartmut Flöckner, as well as the bronze medal in the 4 × 100 m freestyle together with Roland Matthes, Wilfried Hartung and Peter Bruch , with Unger each as the last swimmer went into the pool. In 1970 Unger was GDR champion over 200 meters and over 400 meters freestyle, in 1971 he was champion over 200 meters freestyle on the short course.
In 1972 he received the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze for his athletic achievements at the Summer Olympics .
He is married, has 2 children and lives in Berlin
