Hartmut Flöckner (born June 27, 1953 in Berlin ) is a former swimming athlete from the GDR .

In 1971 and 1973, Flöckner was GDR champion over 200 meters butterfly. In addition, he won several GDR championship titles with the relay of TSC Berlin , together with Wilfried Hartung he was involved in all three championship successes of the TSC relay in 1975 .

Flöckner won his first international medal in 1970 at the European Championships in Barcelona , when he won the bronze medal over the 200 meter butterfly behind his teammate Udo Poser and Folkert Meeuw from the Federal Republic of Germany. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich , Flöckner took seventh place on both butterfly distances. With the layer relay consisting of Roland Matthes , Klaus Katzur , Hartmut Flöckner and Lutz Unger , he won the silver medal behind the US relay, while the GDR relay set a new European record in 3: 52.12 . At the swimming world championships in Belgrade in 1973 , the GDR single-layer relay won silver behind the US relay, this time Roland Matthes, Jürgen Glas , Hartmut Flöckner and Roger Pyttel swam for the GDR. The 4 x 100 meter freestyle relay consisting of Matthes, Pyttel, Peter Bruch and Flöckner won the bronze medal and Flöckner received another bronze medal over the 200 meter butterfly behind Robin Backhaus and Steven Gregg (both USA). Flöckner also won bronze at the 1974 European Championships in Vienna over 200 meters butterfly behind the Hungarian András Hargitay and the British Brian Brinkley . Flöckner was also at the swimming world championships in 1975 and the Olympic Games in 1976 at the start, but no longer reached the final there.

Flöckner was a mechanic and qualified sports teacher. Until the fall of the Berlin Wall , he worked as a sports teacher in rehabilitation, after which Flöckner opened a bicycle shop in Berlin.
