Luz Rios

Luz Rios (born June 2, 1976 in Cuernavaca , Morelos ) is a Mexican singer-songwriter .

Life

Luz Rios was born the seventh child of a total of ten siblings. At the age of 15, Luz formed a band with 4 of her siblings, which was named Morelos Show after the state of its origin . In this band, Luz acted as the main singer and drummer. The band soon became well known in the region and was often invited to special occasions such as birthdays, quinceañeras , weddings and company parties.

After about three years, Luz began her solo career and in 1999 released her first album called Ayer, Hoy y Siempre . Her breakthrough came with the 2008 album Aire , which received a Grammy nomination . The title song of the same name, written by her, reached number 32 on the Billboard Hit Parade.

Private

Luz Rios is married to entrepreneur Richard Carpenter and gave birth to their son Benjamín on October 23, 2014.
