occupation

Reiff für die Insel - Katharina und der Schäfer is a German TV film by Oliver Schmitz from 2015 with Tanja Wedhorn in the leading role. It is the fourth episode of the ARD crime series Reiff for the island .

action

Katharina Reiff is asked to help recapture a flock of sheep that has broken out, or at least to drive it off a miniature golf course. In search of the shepherd who goes with him, Katharina meets a man who calls himself Bernd, who was "buried" by a fallen tree in his tent after the storm last night. After he is released from his predicament, Katharina discovers that the tree has been sawn. Bernd only slowly emerges with the truth: His real name is Manuel Lombardo, is an opera singer and is supposed to testify against a notorious Hamburg rock band. He had been brought to safety here on the island as part of a witness protection program until the start of the trial. Katharina would like to put the man in the police station because she is sure that someone wants to kill him. When island policeman Fiete Finnsen and his predecessor Thies Quedens see it that way, they do everything they can to track down the “killer squad”.

However, a suspicious dark transporter turns out to be harmless because it belongs to three young musicians who are supposed to perform at the upcoming island ball. Unexpectedly, Lombardo's friend Irina turns up on the island because she really wants to talk to him. Katharina knows from Lombardo that he only takes it all out of love, because he wants to free Irina from the clutches of the gang. Irina, in turn, wants to protect Lombardo and dissuade it from giving evidence in court. Katharina is impressed by this love story, but she also fears that Irina was very likely sent to the island to lure Lombardo out of his hiding place. But that doesn't scare him, and then he actually becomes the victim of an attack on the street. Fortunately, he is only slightly injured, but pretends to be dead so that the shooter lets go of him. The culprit is now being pursued and caught by Katharina, Thies and other islanders.

The inhabitants of the island can now celebrate their annual island ball in peace, while Lambardo and his girlfriend are brought to the mainland in a boat from the coast guard, accompanied by the BKA .

Reviews

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv said: “In the fourth film from the Degeto series 'Reiff für die Insel', which is well worth seeing, the rough reality breaks through the contemplative existence of the island.” But not only the plot, but also through The "beautiful dialogues that give the adjective taciturn a whole new meaning, and the wonderfully put together ensemble, which includes Birge Schade as the grumpy vet or Karin Hanczewski as Fiete's friend, it is above all the [...] unexpected expressions, make 'Reiff für die Insel' worth seeing again and again. "

The critics of the television magazine TV Spielfilm only gave a medium rating (thumbs straight) and said: "On Föhr, a storm sweeps away any logic."
