Reiff für die Insel - Neubeginn is a German television film by Anno Saul from 2012 with Tanja Wedhorn in the leading role. It is the opening film for the five-part film series Reiff for the island .

action

Legal assistant Katharina Reiff separates from her boyfriend and travels with her daughter Nele from the big city to the island of Föhr . On the way there, she notices two men at a gas station who are obviously looking for someone and do not inspire confidence. But she overcomes her curiosity, drives on quickly and shortly thereafter meets a hitchhiker who she takes to the ferry. It turns out that the man has health problems and Katharina decides to take care of Sebastian, the man is called, a little longer. Her mother Marianne, who runs a boarding house on the island, is initially less than enthusiastic when her daughter and her family suddenly appear in front of her. To Katharina's chagrin, her car is also towed away because she has parked it under absolute no-parking conditions. She actually just wants to relax a bit, but meets her old friend Thies Quedens, who works here as an island policeman. A fax is just arriving in his office and Katharina realizes that a suspicious car is being searched for in connection with a shooting. She is sure that she saw the car at the gas station. Nele really wants nothing more than that her mother gets her helper syndrome under control, but it looks like Katharina is again sticking her nose into other people's affairs. She gives Sebastian to understand that she knows about the shooting and suspects that he is involved, because he obviously has a slight gunshot wound, which Katharina did not miss. So he tells his helper that he was a croupier in a casino and found out about the machinations of his boss, which is why he now has to flee from his people. Then Katharina helps him to hide.

Thies Quedens finds out that Katharina had taken a hitchhiker with her and so he draws the conclusion that it could belong to the car he was looking for, which has since been found abandoned. When he tells his old girlfriend of his suspicions, she stands protectively in front of Sebastian and advises Thies to look for the two suspects from the gas station. She decides to stay a few days longer on the island and takes on a house sitter job for a currently vacant country house. She persuades Sebastian to rather see a doctor to get his gunshot wound treated. Fortunately, Katharina knows the island doctor and his daughter, who now runs the practice, so the treatment remains a secret. Gradually, the matter becomes too delicate for Katharina and she lets Thies in on her secret. Just in time - when Sebastian's pursuers arrive on the island. Together with his sprightly father and other islanders, Thies takes on the fight against the "gangsters". First of all, they send those who are unfamiliar with the island back and forth. When the two of them arrive exhausted at the pension "Rosehip", where they suspect Sebastian, they find themselves in the middle of Thies' police station. Without further ado, Thies puts the two of them in a cell. But it turns out that the two are detectives and Sebastian would do well to leave the island as soon as possible. Katharina persuades him to give her his booty from the casino, which he does, in order to then leave the island with the next ferry. Katharina herself decides to make a fresh start on Föhr.

criticism

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said of this opening film in the series “Reiff for the Island”: “An entertaining mixture of comedic self-discovery with crime fiction and pleasantly little serious romance. Sympathetically cast, feather-light and telegently staged by Anno Saul. This pretty, playful story, enriched with many small details, does not have to be told - but it's still fun! "

In Quotenmeter.de Sidney Schering evaluated behavior: "The shallow crime comedy that never offends and first internally remains after each indicated Pointe as if she wanted the audience to grant a respite for a murder even gag, contains many of the typical ingredients for dyed with local color Schmunzel- Crime series. In terms of content, staging and the type of presentation. The acting ensemble is definitely enjoying it, but nobody seems to want to exhaust themselves. "
