Reiff für die Insel - Katharina und die Dänen is a German TV film directed by Oliver Schmitz from 2014 with Tanja Wedhorn in the leading role. It is the third episode of the ARD crime series Reiff for the island .
action
Katharina Reiff, who has since received her license to practice as a lawyer, has to deal with a number of food poisoning. Most of those affected had previously eaten mackerel in the beach bar "Düne". Among them is the book author Jonas Mikkelsen, whose publisher wants to sue the owners of the beach bar for damages. Katharina sits between the chairs because the owners of the “dune” are her friends Thies and Helge Quedens. She decides to represent the Quedens, despite her sympathy for Mikkelsen, who appears very helpless after losing his glasses.
When looking for clues, Katharina has to investigate her own daughter Nele, as she and her friend and employer Finn Feddersen have engaged in illegal business with Danish traders. Thies and Katharina are determined to help Finn and Nele. They make a plan how they can get Finn out of the contract with the Danes, because the Danish traders had already given Finn a lesson to demonstrate what could happen if he did not continue to take their fish from them.
Thies rounds up a few islanders, including policeman Finnsen, and takes Finn out to sea, where they want to meet the Danes. Here they stage a story with the help of crime writer Mikkelsen and under his direction. Apparently Finn had to kill someone because he knew too much and now the Danes are supposed to "dispose of" him on the high seas. The men are shocked and they get away with their cutter as fast as possible, never to be seen again. Mikkelsen also leaves the island again, with an idea for his next book in his luggage.
After Katharina's mother finds herself overwhelmed by running the pension on her own, her granddaughter Nele agrees to take over the guesthouse.

criticism
Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv said: “The third part of the ARD Degeto series 'Reiff for the Island' with Tanja Wedhorn is a beautiful example of the intelligent variation of the same thing. This time, too, the same principle applies to Föhr: three is one too many. 'Katharina and the Danes' is above all an actor film. Maximilian Brückner proves to be a great comedian, and Jan-Gregor Kremp, as a melancholy romantic, is a wonderful counterpart to Wedhorn, who scores with credibility, a personable demeanor and a delightful swing of the hips. "
The critics of the TV magazine TV Spielfilm gave it the best rating and gave the thumbs up without comment.
