Luzi Bergamin

Luzi Bergamin (born July 21, 1901 in Obervaz , † June 14, 1988 in Liebefeld ) was a Swiss country musician and composer from the canton of Graubünden .

Life

Bergamin started his musical career in the village music of Obervaz, led by his father, and later trained as a military game leader. At the Conservatory of Basel he took clarinet lessons . His main job was to become chief clerk in the Oberzolldirektion in Bern and worked as second clarinetist in the student country band of Bern . From this formation the Berner Ländersquintett emerged in 1940 and 1941 , which was expanded after the Second World War to the Berner Ländersquintet . In his work, choral songs as well as brass music and country compositions were created. Although he was mostly in the canton of Bern , today he is one of the most played composers, especially in his home canton.
