The Lycée Frederic Mistral is the oldest and second largest Lycée in Avignon . It was named after the former student Frédéric Mistral , who received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1904 . The school is located on Rue d'Annanelle .
history
The Lycée was founded as a royal college and was initially located near the Rue de la République . In the middle of the twentieth century, a new institution called Cité Scolaire Frédéric-Mistral was created, which includes the Lycée Frédéric-Mistral ( secondary level II ), a college of the same name ( secondary level I ), preparatory classes for tertiary education and a boarding school. The building of the former school has since been called the Petit Lycée Frédéric Mistral .
The school offers preparatory classes for studying mathematics in the university categories PCSI and PSI . In addition, preparatory classes are offered for studying literature at the renowned ENS Lyon and for studying at the IEPs .
The possibility of studying theater has existed since 1993. In this context, various theater performances take place at the school during the festival in July. There are also courses u. a. for dance, film and art history as well as a Chinese focus.
