The Talga River is a river in the northwest of the Australian state of Western Australia . It is located in the Pilbara region .

geography

The river has its source on the eastern slopes of Mount Edgar and flows northwest. It crosses under the Rippon Hills Road and flows into the Coongan River at Eginbah .

The Talga River has no water in its upper reaches for most of the year. The Yandicoogina Creek , which flows in from the south and is also the longest tributary at 55.1 kilometers, provides water all year round.
