Lydia oyster

Lydia Auster (born May 17 . Jul / the thirtieth May  1912 greg. In Petropavlovsk , Russian Empire ; †  3. April 1993 in Tallinn , Estonia ) was an Estonian composer.

Lydia Auster studied from 1927 to 1931 piano and composition in Omsk , and from 1931 to 1934 at the Conservatory in Leningrad . She graduated from the Moscow Conservatory with Vissarion Schebalin in 1938 . Until 1944 she worked as a pianist and composer in Central Asia .

In 1945 she moved to Tallinn. From 1948 to 1984 Lydia Auster was music director of the State Television and Radio Committee of the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic .

Lydia Auster has been composing songs for soloists and choirs since the 1930s. In addition, she created numerous pieces of music for piano, wind instruments, violin and works for symphony orchestra. She wrote the libretti for numerous ballets and for the short opera Maihommik . Influences of national romanticism permeate most of her musical works.
