Lydia Rose Stephans (born October 19, 1960 in Chicago , Illinois ) is a former American speed skater .

Stephen's speed skating career lasted two years, from 1983 to 1984. In the first year she took part in the all- around world championship in Chemnitz and reached 21st place in the small four- way competition. In the same year she started at the Sprint World Championships in Helsinki and was there 16. In 1984 she qualified for the Winter Olympics in Sarajevo , where she reached 13th place in the 1000 meter competition.

After her active career, Stephans worked for ABC Sports from 1986 , and became the television station's first female vice-president. She was responsible for the content of the program Wide World of Sports . She was also responsible for NASCAR , tennis and golf events. In 1999, Stephans moved to Oxygen Network as President and Production Manager to build it up. After three years she went to MSG Network to work there as program and production manager. In 2006 Stephans left MSG and founded her own company Peace Tree Media .

Stephans attended the private National Louis University and left in 1982 with a degree in journalism . She then completed a master's degree at Northwestern University , which she successfully completed in 1985.
