Lyes Houri (born January 19, 1996 in Lomme ) is a French football player .

Club career

Youth (until 2014)

Houri was born in Lomme, a part of what is now Lille , and began playing football as a youth at the local OSC Lille professional club . He stayed there for a few years and went through the youth teams until he left the club due to a lack of perspective. He switched to ES Wasquehal , which cooperates with the OSC , where he developed positively in the following years. In view of this, he aroused the interest of Valenciennes FC and was accepted into their youth training center in 2011.

During the 2012/13 season he was for the first time for the reserve team of Valenciennes FC playing in the fourth division, but had to accept relegation with this at the end of the season. Afterwards, the Houri, who is actually still part of the youth sector, was partly used in this team.

Start of his professional career (since 2014)

From the 2014/15 season, the then 18-year-old was part of the professional team of Valenciennes FC, who had previously been relegated from the first division. On August 1, 2014, he was called up from the start in a 2-0 defeat against Gazélec FC Ajaccio , making his debut in the second-highest division. In the following time, the professional , who is based in the defensive midfield, regularly received further game practice, where he was often substituted on.

At the beginning of February 2015, Houri was signed by the first division club SC Bastia , based on the island of Corsica . A transfer fee was not due. When he came on on February 28 of the same year in a 2-0 draw against FC Lorient in the 84th minute, he came to his first appearance in the top division of France. Since he had little chance of playing at Bastia, he was awarded to third division ASM Belfort in February 2016 for the rest of the 2015/16 season . In this he was regularly called up and was involved in achieving relegation. For the second half of the 2016/17 season he was awarded to the Dutch first division club Roda JC Kerkrade , but was not used there.

National team

Houri made his entry into the youth teams of the French federation at the age group of the under 16-year-olds when he made his debut for the selection team on March 6, 2012 in a 1-1 draw against Italy. He was then regularly considered and was promoted to the U-17 in the following summer. With this he missed the qualification for the European Championship 2013 . He was not used in the next age group, but from 2014 he was a member of the U-19.
