Lomme ( Flemish : Olm ) is a formerly independent city in the region Hauts-de-France in Nord in northern France . It is located in the Deûle valley , has around 28,000 inhabitants and is the capital of the canton of Lomme .
The city was up in 2000 as a community part of the former town association European Metropolis of Lille . Since then, as the Commune associée of Lille, it has been directly attached to the city while maintaining a certain degree of self-government.
