The Lykische Ragwurz ( Ophrys lycia ) is a kind of the genus Ragwurzen ( Ophrys ) in the family of the Orchid Family (Orchidaceae).

Plant description

This herbaceous perennial plant reaches a maximum height of 30 cm. On the stem there are three to four lanceolate leaves in the lower part and one to two sheathed leaves are found in the upper part.

In the relatively dense inflorescence there are three to five flowers , the bracts are hardly longer than the ovary . In the purple-pink sepals , the lateral ones often appear darker spotted. The middle sepal is erect and appears S-shaped when viewed from the side. The petals, which are bare or papillary at the base, are pink. The round, slightly arched lip appears dark brown-purple; at the rear edge it is lighter and shorter-haired, but otherwise it appears papilous and velvety everywhere and a small appendage can be recognized at the front. The gray-purple mark has a lighter edge and is H-shaped, but can also sometimes have two cross connections.

The flowering period extends from March to April.
