Lyn Murray

Lyn Murray (born December 6, 1909 in London - † May 20, 1989 in Los Angeles ; born Lionel Breeze ) was an American composer , arranger and conductor .

biography

Lyn Murray was born Lionel Breeze in London in 1909. His father emigrated to the USA in 1923. The family followed in 1925 and he grew up in Philadelphia . Lyn Murray studied music at the Juilliard School and with Joseph Schillinger . He then began to work from 1931 in Philadelphia and from 1934 in New York at CBS Radio as a conductor, arranger and composer. He stayed with radio until 1947, working on shows such as The Adventures of Ellery Queen , Radio Readers Digest , March of Time and The Ford Theater . From 1947 he lived in Los Angeles , where he was employed at the Hallmark Playhouse from 1947 to 1951 from 1951 to 1989, mainly for television as a composer.

Murray died of cancer on May 20, 1989 at the age of 79 at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
