Lyric Resistance is an EP by the Lübeck rapper Albino . It was released in June 1998 and is the artist's first official sound carrier.

Emergence

Except for Stand Up , all pieces were recorded, mixed and mastered in the Piermont Studios in Heidelberg on Boulevard Bou . The latter was created in Flo's Crib. and was produced by DJ Flo.

layout

On the cover of the EP, which was drawn by Nadine Bode, a human skeleton can be seen against a black background, holding a smoking cigar with its teeth. In its left hand it is holding a suitcase with bills hanging out. In its right hand it holds several threads that lead to the hands of four men in suits who represent politicians. The latter sit around a brown table with a large globe on a white coaster.

At the top left there is ALBINO FEAT TORCH, PFADFINDAZ & DJ MIKE in red capital letters , at the top right a black, red-framed speech bubble with the inscription PRODUCED BY BOULEVARD BOU AND ALBINO . The title of the EP can be seen below.

Texts and style

Like all of Albino's later releases, the pieces on the EP are stylistically assigned to Conscious Rap . In Tatort Bonn , he expressed his displeasure with the political situation, especially with the Kohl government at the time . He accuses politicians of being corrupt and of bowing almost exclusively to the interests of business.

Suicide , a duet with Torch , addresses the destruction of the environment by humans. The title of the EP is derived from Torch's line of text “We offer lyrical resistance. But my will to live was once burned down again. " From. In the following stanzas rapped by Albino, Torch plays a kind of “echo” in which he repeats the last line.

Get up , on the MC ADOP gastrapperin, criticize the passivity of the people in Germany and call for the local mechanisms to be changed.
