The Lysakerfjord is a fjord in Norway , an extension of the Oslofjord in its extreme north. It lies between the two peninsulas Snarøya (with Fornebu ) in the west and Bygdøy in the east.

geography

The fjord is about 1.8 km wide at its confluence with the Oslofjord. It extends generally north about 3 km to Lysaker and turns there, north of the island of Killingen, to east-northeast. The end area, which is now only about 250 m wide and about 1 km long, is called Bestumkilen . At Lysaker the Lysakerelv flows into the fjord; it forms the border between the two provinces of Oslo and Viken , which then runs further south through the Lysakerfjord, roughly in the middle.

use

The Lysakerfjord is a popular local recreation area , with several bathing spots and with large marinas in the Oslo city area in Bestumkilen and on the east side of Killingen.
