The steam railcar of the MÁV series BCmot 03501 was manufactured in 1904 by the Komarek machine works and was the only known steam railcar of the Komarek type for the Hungarian state railway MÁV . The railcar was originally built with an A1 'wheel arrangement. At a date that was not specified in time, the car was given a running axis 1570 mm in front of the driving axis for better guidance of the vehicle in narrow curved tracks.

history

Photo of the preserved Komarek railcar in the Lužná u Rakovníka Railway Museum

The only Komarek railcar in Hungary had a greater performance than a similar vehicle in the Czech Republic . The running axle in front of the driving axle, which was later built into track curves for better entry, was later made ex works on some vehicles from other series.

It is stated about the mission that it achieved a speed of 45 km / h during test drives between Aszód and Gödöllő on a long uphill stretch of 7 o / oo with a trailer load of 70 t. Hatvan is named as the place of work . The railcar carried out the planned services from Hatvan to Budapest with three trailer cars and a load of 43.7 t, on the return journey two trailers and 31.6 t were specified. At an unknown point in time, the railcar was handed over to the CFR . The further development of the vehicle is not known.

technical features

The design of the car body corresponded to the M 124.0 . The specified technical data are similar to those of this vehicle.

From the steam engine it was much stronger and can be described as the most powerful Hungarian steam railcar. The steam pressure is given as 25 bar. This resulted in a significantly higher performance with otherwise the same dimensions of the steam engine compared to the M 124.0.
