The MÁV IIr series consisted of locomotives with a tender that the MÁV took over from the Staats-Eisenbahn-Gesellschaft (StEG) in 1891 . With the StEG they had the company numbers 19-29 at that time. The machines originally came from the kk Südostliche Staatsbahn , where they belonged to two different series:
