Märkische football championship 1908/09
The Brandenburg football championship 1908-09 was the eighth under the Märkischen Football Association (MFB) discharged football championship . The championship was played this season in a group of nine teams in the two legs. In the end, the FC Tasmania Rixdorf prevailed and became Märkischer football champions for the first time.
Normally this season, as in the last two years, there should be a qualification game for participation in the German soccer championship 1908/09 between the Märkischer Meister and the champion of the Association of Berliner Ballspielvereine (VBB). However, the VBB refused to provide a participant for this game in order not to strengthen the rival association with additional income. Tasmania Rixdorf thus qualified for this year's German soccer championship without a fight. After a 2-4 defeat against Altonaer FC in 1893 , the quarter-finals were over.
