Mónica Calzetta Ruiz (born November 29, 1972 in Geneva ) is a Spanish chess player.

Life

At the age of about seven she moved to the Spanish Mediterranean island of Mallorca .

In 1992 she was 4th at the women's student world championships in Antwerp , and in 1996 she was runner-up with the team in León, Spain . With the Spanish women's team, she took part in the Chess Olympiads in 1992 , 1994 , 1996 , 2000 , 2002 , 2004 , 2006 , 2008 , 2010 and 2012 and the European Team Championships in 1997, 1999, 2001, 2003, 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2015.

She played for the French club Montpellier Echecs and won the French women's team championship with him in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2001. In the German women's Bundesliga, Calzetta played for SC Meerbauer Kiel in the 2003/04 season and for SK Doppelbauer Kiel in the 2006/07 and 2015/16 seasons . In the Spanish team championship she has played for Mérida Patrimonio de la Humanidad since 2016 .

Calzetta won the Spanish women's championship in 1997, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2009.
