history

The predecessors of the Möseler Verlag go back to the year 1821; they are: the Hartmann'sche Kunst- und Musikalienhandlung , the Verlag von L. (Louis) Holle , the Verlag von Julius Zwißler and the Georg Kallmeyer Verlag (this is not the Kallmeyer'sche Verlagbuchhandlung in the Friedrich Verlag), all of which have their headquarters in Wolfenbüttel. In the 1920s, the publisher Georg Kallmeyer was closely associated with the youth music movement around Fritz Jöde . Originally the publishing house was connected to the Musikantengilde and developed after 1933 through close cooperation with the cultural office of the Reich Youth Leadership under Karl Cerff to the publishing house of the Hitler Youth and from 1934 was the official publisher of the music sheets of the Hitler Youth. After Georg Kallmeyer's death, Karl-Heinz Möseler (1912–1984) became the publisher's manager in 1945. In 1947 he was able to take over the publishing house with the approval of the responsible military authorities. The publisher is privately owned.
