The Mühlenbarbeker Au is a right tributary of the Stör in the Steinburg district .

The Mühlenbarbeker Au has a length of 11 km and rises southwest of Hennstedt . From there it flows through the Schierenwald in a south-south-west direction to Lockstedt and flows through the mill pond of the Springhoe estate . From the municipality of Mühlenbarbek , in which the Oehlenteichgraben and Hellbek flow into it, the Mühlenbarbeker Au is dike. In the sturgeon it opens a "Auschleuse" called Siel . Its catchment area covers around 4,767 hectares.

The Mühlenbarbeker Au is probably the same brook that was first mentioned in a document in the 13th century under the name "Berbeke" and later as "Barbek" and after which Mühlenbarbek and Lohbarbek are named.

In Mühlenbarbek there are several street names associated with the Mühlenbarbeker Au, such as "Möhlenau" (Mühlenau), "An der Au" or "Becksweg" (Bachsweg).
