Munich - changing tires made easy is a sampler with bands from the Munich Neue-Deutsche-Welle and punk environment, the first edition of which was published in 1981 by ridiculous records . For the first edition, the LP was accompanied by an extensive booklet by the Dadaist Mark Sargent . In 1998 the sampler was re-released by Schlecht und Schwindlig Records .

meaning

Tire change made easy was after the EPs Popular Melodies from the German South (with Marionetz , Störtrupp and Junks ) and the Münchensampler from Gruft Records (with Rabies , Dagowops , Dustbins and Die Leidtragenden ) the first LP sampler of the Munich punk scene and thus contributed to it to give the local scene its own identity and to make local bands known nationwide. So was the record u. a. the debut of ZSD and later nationally known bands such as Marionetz or FSK were represented.

Trivia

  • There was a note on the sampler with the ironic request “Vigilante justice through incorrect purchases! Pay no more than 39.90 DM ”, whereupon some record shops actually sold it for 39.90 DM .
  • The journalist Hollow Skai commented on the number of tracks on the sampler that the Illuminati had been at work because 23 was the number of Illuminati.
