MED engineering is a trade journal for designers and developers of medical devices for near-patient diagnosis and therapy for all medical areas, including ophthalmology , ENT and dental medicine as well as for laboratory and operating room equipment. The magazine appears in German-speaking countries.

The main topics are medical electronics, hardware and software device components , semi-finished products and materials that are important for device development and the development of endo- and exoprostheses . Information from measurement technology and software tools and test tools support the developer in their daily work.

It also reports on things worth knowing about legal regulations in the Medical Devices Act ( Product Safety Act and Medical Devices Ordinance ), but also about standards and national and international certifications as well as country-specific requirements in the various medical technology markets.

MED engineering appears 8 times a year. In addition to the six regular editions, which appear every two months, the international edition is published once a year. This special edition is a compilation of last year's leading articles, published in English. MED engineering International is represented at trade fairs in Europe, North America and Asia.

The second additional annual edition is the MED engineering MARKET .
