The Oberfranken media group - Fachverlage GmbH & Co. KG is based in Kulmbach in Upper Franconia. With around 60 employees, the company focuses on specialist books, specialist magazines, events and teaching materials in the areas of health management, complementary medicine , conventional medicine, education and property valuation .

history

In 1927 the "Offertenblatt" was founded for the entire needs of public and private healing, care and recreation institutions. This was followed by name changes from the “Anstalts-Umschau” to the “Krankenhaus-Umschau” up to the current “ KU Gesundheitsmanagement ”, which has been published since 2008.

In 1936 the Baumann Didaktische Medien publishing house was finally founded, which dealt with didactic media such as textbooks and school utensils, including blackboards, chalk and work aids. This was followed in 1976 by the loose-leaf work School Principal ABC as a file box. The publisher gradually expanded its portfolio for the education sector to include additional products for school management and counseling.

In 2003 the Kulmbacher Baumann Group merged with the Bamberg Franconian Day . In 2009 the Mediengruppe Oberfranken GmbH & Co. KG was founded, which from then on expanded its products to include additional specialist magazines.

The range has grown since 2012. These include, in particular, specialist books through acquisitions by the publishers ML, Lau, Irl, Foitzick and Marseille. In the meantime, the two events “KU Management Congress” and the “KU Coding Specialist Congress” are also being organized for the health sector.

Since 2015, other products have been added, such as the ideas exchanges in the field of education or the new property valuation product area.

In 2017 the remaining stocks of the Olzog Verlag , the "cross-media programs", were bought up by the Oberfranken media group and continued as an imprint , after the Lau-Verlag in Reinbek near Hamburg had previously launched the non-fiction program (“History, Politics, Society”) from January 1, 2014. of the Olzog publishing house.
