MFSB
MFSB (short for M other, F ather, S ister, B -red) was a loose association of several studio musicians , the first since 1971 numerous Phillysound accompanied -Interpreten and later successfully own albums published. The massive and opulent string and wind arrangements were stylistically defining.
In 1974 the band achieved a top international hit with the instrumental TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia) with The Three Degrees as background singers. It was originally the music for the US TV show Soul Train ; The piece was composed by Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff . In the USA the track was a number one hit and million seller, in Germany the song reached number 5.
In 2004 MFSB's Love Is the Message was inducted into the newly established Dance Music Hall of Fame .
