The MTR X74 series is a high-speed train that has been in service in Sweden by the operator MTR Express since March 2015 . The six multiple units purchased were ordered from Stadler Rail in Switzerland in November 2013 . The first multiple unit was delivered in November 2014.

Technical specifications

The trains were built by Stadler Rail with a maximum output of 4,500 kW and a top speed of 200 km / h.

The vehicle is a version of the Stadler FLIRT model that was supplied to the Norwegian Norges Statsbaner (NSB) as NSB Type 74 and NSB Type 75 . It largely corresponds to the same technical specifications, but with different equipment. The trains are designed to withstand the climate in the Swiss Alps and in the north.

A train consists of a total of five cars without tilting technology with a central aisle . He owns Jakobs bogies . If necessary, several trains can be coupled.

The sets with 2 + 2 seating have a kiosk, sockets at all seats, WLAN connection, access for the disabled and are air-conditioned. There is only one class of car. The passage through the train is not barrier-free because there are steps between the cars. The way to the toilets is sometimes problematic, as the kiosk located on both sides of the central aisle has to be crossed from different seats. Each car has a double sliding door for changing passengers with extendable steps.

Interior details include wall clocks from Swiss Breitling and adjustable reading lamps that are mounted on the seats. The interior, including the adjustable seats, is gray; some seats have a red backrest.

Rates

Although there is only one class on the train, seats are allocated according to ticket categories. The most expensive ticket, 1 Klass Plus , entitles you to a seat in car A. It includes a meal and the service of food and beverages at the seat, a short-term change to the train to be used on the same day and the return of the ticket for a refund. With the cheaper fixed and flex tickets, the seats are allocated from car E. With the Flex card , you can change the train connection to be used and return the ticket. With the Fix-Karte (price per direction for the entire route at the beginning of 2019 for individual trains: 185 SEK ) there is a train connection, there is no reserved seat and no return option.

There are no hot meals in the kiosk, payment is cashless. Parts of the offer have been put together by the star chef Pontus Frithiof .

Strollers must be registered. Spaces that can be in a car other than the seat (C, D or E) will be allocated. Bicycles are not transported. Infants up to 23 months are transported free, children over two years receive a discount of only 20%. A maximum of two dogs may be taken with you; animals must be taken to the places in carriage D.
