The MTV Treubund Lüneburg from 1848 eV , MTV Treubund Lüneburg or Treubund Lüneburg for short , is the largest sports club in Lüneburg and one of the largest sports clubs in Lower Saxony with around 4800 members . The club was created in 1972 from the merger of MTV Lüneburg and Treubund Lüneburg . Its colors are "red-blue-white".
The MTV Lüneburg was founded on July 14th, 1848 for the “care of the patriotic gymnastics” , Treubund Lüneburg on August 13th, 1848 as a workers association in Lüneburg for “educational and social work for the craftsmen” .

MTV Treubund Lüneburg founded MTV Treubund Sportmarketing GmbH on January 11, 1994. The purpose of the company is to relieve the club of non-sporting tasks. This applies to the areas of marketing, advertising, tourism and events.
