history

The sports hall at Rütlistrasse 19 in the municipality of Thun was opened in August 2000. The hall was planned by the two sports clubs SC Thunerstern (roller hockey) and UHC Thun (floorball). In the past, the hall was used by the army during the day. Later, the army ceased to be a permanent tenant and the situation of the cooperative that runs the sports hall became critical. The city of Thun is involved in the sports hall through a municipal guarantee, investment amounts, an annual operating contribution and as a majority cooperative.

In December 2013, the hall was completely taken over by the city of Thun.

use

Basically, different schools from the city of Thun use the triple sports hall. Originally the sports hall was used by the Unihockyclub UHC Thun and the roller hockey club SC Thunerstern for training and championship purposes.

Since the sports hall has been operated by the city of Thun, schools from the city have also used the hall for physical education.
