UHC Uster

The Buchholz sports hall is the largest sports hall in Uster . It is home to the floorball club UHC Uster and TV Uster Handball.

construction

The Buchholz sports hall was built on behalf of the city of Uster. The building was planned by the architects Camenzind Gräfensteiner from Zurich. In 1997, the CHF 8.5 million sports hall was completed after two years of construction.

The construction was dragged on by complicated details that place higher demands on the building physics and sound insulation. In 1998, one year after the shell was completed, the hall was opened. The sports hall is also known as the hall of light by various architects and companies. The hall is illuminated by daylight during the day thanks to the translucent and transparent facade elements. The light effect is reversed at night. This creates a glare-free, neutral light inside. The sun protection is achieved by special insulating glass with a capillary system. As a result of the structural measures, the energy consumption can be reduced significantly.

use

The TV Uster Handball and UHC Uster use the multi-purpose hall for training and Championship purposes.

reachability

The Buchholz sports hall can be reached on foot in around 15 minutes from Uster train station.

The hall can be reached by public transport with bus lines 812, 827 and 830, stops at Reithalle and Sports Center.
