The Hardau sports hall is one of the largest event locations in Zurich , which was completed and opened in 2007. It is located in the Aussersihl district  between Albisriederplatz , Hardplatz and Letzigrund Stadium .

The triple gym can accommodate around 1,300 spectators.

history

In 1998 the city council of Zurich set the goal of upgrading the Aussersihl district with structural and socio-cultural means. In addition to the construction of new residential buildings and the creation of new parks, the expansion of the school facilities and thus the construction of a new sports hall was also discussed.

The project competition was started in 2002 by the Office for Buildings of the City of Zurich. In February 2005, the project was presented to the people, who approved the upgrading of the quarter. Construction of the sleek, glass building began in January 2006 with the groundbreaking ceremony. In August 2007 the building was completed and released for use.

use

The sports hall is mostly used by the GC Unihockey Unihockyclub for training and championship purposes. The women of the UHC Dietlikon also play their home games in Hardau when the Hüeneweid in Dietlikon is otherwise occupied.
